
Praiano tourist information
Praiano is a small fishing village which is also well prepared for tourists. Historically it was the summer residence of the Doge ( leader of the Amalfitan Replublic) and King Charles of Anjou chose the town as a university seat. A “must to see”in Praiano is the parish church, dedicated to St. Luke which houses relics of the saint and several paintings by the 16th century artist Bernardo Lama. Aother church of historical interest is Saint Gennaro, with its tiled dome and 18th century bell- tower.
