Hotel Hermitage description
The Hotel Hermitage was founded in the early 1950s by the Genoese aristocrat Paolo De Ferrari who fell in love with the fine pink-tinted sand and deep blue - crystal-clear sea of Biodola - a small fishing village. The beauty of the setting remains a highlight of the hotel we see today - a modern structure which sits right beside the sea - blending harmoniously with the sand and rocks and nestling in the luxuriant Mediterranean landscape that surrounds it - a protected area within the Tuscan Archipelago Park. The hotel has 132 rooms - 32 of which are located in the main building - the others being found in one of the 7 villas - each with 5 to 26 rooms - set in the private park. All rooms have a charming patio or balcony framed by geraniums and bougainvillea overlooking the sea or the private park. They are fitted out with all the modern amenities guests require - air-conditioning - colour satellite TV - direct dial phone and ensuite bathroom. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is warm and welcoming - making it feel more like a private home - and the level of service is superb.
