The hot spring centre of Chianciano is completely surrounded by delightful hills covered with woodland; being away from any industrial centre, it offers the perfect environment for preserving the balance of ecological and hydrogeological systems.

The are is rich with thermal mineral springs having curative power. Nearby there are numerous important spas which form a unique hot spring centre: San Casciano dei Bagni and Montepuliano; both of them are already well-known and, all the year long, many customers from different parts of the world go there. Chianciano, perfectly balanced with the surroundings, as numerous green, luxuriant parks and gardens offering excellent tourist facilities as well as mild climate. Thanks to its convenient geographical position and the good accomodation, Chianciano allows the tourist to visit many centres of art in Tuscany and in the neighbouring Umbria. We can note Sarteano, Torrita, Trequanda, Cortona, Siena, Firenze, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi and many others.

Few kilometers away we find two real jewels: Montepucliano which maintains intact its Renaissance atmosphere in its streets and squares, Pienza which is maybe the only example actually made of a Resanaissance city prototype that was designed by Rossellino for Pope Pius II. In Monticchiello "Teatro Povero" plays are held each year with the collaboration of the whole community.

In Chianciano the Archeological museum "Delle Acque" represents a special cultural event, here there are lots of archeological finds often brought to light in the excavations of the city streets, which proves the Etruscan origin of Chianciano. In the whole area the wealth of archeological finds have made possible the opening of the museums of Cetona, Sarteano, Pienza and Chiusi. The museum of Chiusi is one of the most famous all over Italy.
