“La tranquilita retrovata”, that’s what it says in the first sign you see upon arriving in Santa Maria degli Ancilloti: “Tranquility is here”. A total of 8 one bedroom apartments, with a nice size under the counter refrigerator and a two burner stove which you don’t see unless you open a cabinet. Santa Maria degli Ancilloti is owned and run by the Villa family, they started in 1994, no outside workers. Rosana the mother and her daughter Susie, do the cooking, Alessio the son, waits on the tables and bar, and Paolo the father, runs the show and helps wherever he is needed... They buy very little food outside because they produce they own wine, grow their chickens, make the olive oil and many other products. One of the advantages of Santa Maria degli Ancilloti is its location, only minutes away from many of the interesting places to visit in the wonderful region of Umbria. For reservations full prepayment by check is required a month in advance. They don’t take credit cards and they are usually full.
